Welcome to the Decoración en Piedra Marqués, S.A. website

Decoración en Piedra Marqués, S.A. has specialized in artificial stone since 1967. Thanks to nearly 40 years of acquired experience we can offer a high-quality product as well as an extensive catalogue with more than one thousand references. Our company, which stands in a plot of 14.000 m2, contains 6.000m2 of buildings, which house our factory areas, offices and retail shop.

We have five main production lines:

          - Marqués: Artificial stone made of liquid cement mortar and marble chippings. The resulting liquid is poured into a mould and vibrated with a concrete poker or a vibrating table.

          - Arte Ibérico: Artificial stone made of dry cast cement mortar and marble chippings which are hand pressed against the moulds’ surface. Quality artificial stone has traditionally been produced this way.

          - Serie “M”: Artificial stone made of dry cast concrete of white cement and marble chippings. Pieces are moulded on powerful vibrating tables. The result is a very resistant product.

          - Petræ: Artificial stone elements to do paving and facings in any of our previous lines.

          - Ornamental fountains: Manufacturing of ornamental fountains, with or without artificial stone, hydraulic circuits, lighting, control panels, automation…

The production process may vary according to the line of the product. In all cases cement and marble chippings in the paste are measured out in weigh, while water and additives are measured out in volume. Once the pieces are out of the mould, they are placed in moist rooms for a fortnight to guarantee a proper hardening. When this process is finished, the patinated goods are painted with a clear fixative to protect this patina against ultraviolet rays and inclemency of the weather for years.
After having finished the pieces, they are stored in our premises until they are dispatched.

The most fragile pieces have a stainless steel frame or a galvanized mesh.

Periodically we carry out freezing tests: during daylight the items are immersed in water, in the evening they are put into a freezer until the following morning, when once more, they are immersed in water. This process is repeated about thirty times. Any items which have not been fully treated, will deteriorate between the twelfth and the fifteenth repetition.

In addition, in front of our factory, you will see our shop, where you will find all our products, a wide range of garden and home décor and a large collection of ancient jarres.
